Thank you for your feedback!
Thanks SO MUCH to those of you who participated in our survey. We are grateful for your time and care. The results were illuminating, and we are already mobilizing to make Poema better for you, the dancers who wear it, in as many was as possible.
As of next week, OUR RELEASE TIME FOR NEW POEMA WILL MOVE TO 10am PT (Pacific Time) every Thursday. This release day and time were overwhelmingly the most popular first choice in the survey.
We are excited about making some website improvements. As many of you requested, we have now made each garment's size visible in the shop, so you no longer have to click on a listing to see its size. It takes time to change a website, but in the coming months we will be working hard to do what we can to further improve site navigability and searchability.
Unfortunately, there are some things we can’t do because of the limits of our online shop platform. A few of you suggested that items in one’s shopping cart be held for a few minutes during checkout so that no-one else would be able to buy them. We’ve looked into it thoroughly, and there is just no way for us to implement this. For the time being, the first person to complete checkout will be the one who purchases the item. We know it can be frustrating to have someone buy an item you have placed in your cart, but it’s important to us that availability of Poema pieces is fair and equal, and first-come first-serve is the fairest system we have for this.
Another project that will take a bit of time to come to fruition is model size diversity. It has been a long-term desire of mine to have pictures on the website that show various sizes of poema on the bodies for which they were designed, instead of having everything photographed on the same frame. It sounds like a number of you will appreciate this addition. We are working on it!
Lastly, I was very excited to read all of your feedback about silhouettes and other design elements. I am already dreaming up ways to accommodate the various visions you shared with me. Like the above mentioned projects, the creative process takes time, so please be patient and keep an eye on the shop in the coming months to see new silhouettes and fabrics work their way into the poema repertoire.
Though some preferences were clear across the board (more dresses! Okay! I hear you!), I want you to know that you in your beautiful diversity are all over the map in terms of what you want to see from Poema. If you asked for more short skirts, please be aware that there are a number of ladies begging for long skirts. If you asked for size medium pants, know that there are just as many requests for extra small pants. So, in the coming months, if you see the opposite of what you asked for appearing in the shop, it’s not because I didn’t hear you, it’s because I heard everyone! I can only make a handful of pieces each week, so it will take many weeks for most requests to manifest. Thank you in advance for your patience.
In addition to website improvements, model diversity and design evolution, we have a few other exciting changes percolating! Do stay tuned! We think you will be thrilled!
Thank you so much for your continued support. We received a plethora of sweet notes full of encouragement and love in the survey. All of your words are meaningful to us and have helped us to feel like we are on the right track and to stay motivated to keep growing and improving. We are a tiny, woman-owned company of two hardworking tango dancers selling artisan goods, and as such, we are amazed every day in this crazy world that we are able to stay afloat. It is thanks to you, and we appreciate you so much.
